“I don’t know if you know this, this is kind of terrible but, before July 4th, you know, because a lot of dogs run away with the fireworks. He is part of one of those, that crew that would have been, put down. So, we got Brisket just in time.” “We desperately need volunteers. If you’ve got kids and you have no place else to go on New Year’s Eve, come out here, read a book to the animals. All of that helps really calm them down.”

“The person that brought him to Tasmania had an idea of racing him and sort of lost interest and kept him in a paddock outside for two years before they surrendered him to Brightside. As soon as we met Claude, he just was so sweet. He stayed right next to us the whole time. We felt like he was the right dog for us. We brought him home and he didn’t know his name.”

Milo was a stray pregnant dog-lady who was found and taken to Sunshine Dog Rescue, Arizona. “There were three kittens. Her instincts were so strong to mother something. We got really lucky that we found babies for her and she took to them and they took to her.”

“We saw the cat bringing one kitten after another to the man’s office. Since this man used to feed the cat everyday, she thought that her kittens would also be safe in this place. Cat-people are really good at knowing and liking when people show them love.”

“Reading his story that he about 24 hours away from having to be put down, I just couldn’t help but feel so sad. We were his last hope. We think that maybe he really struggled for food before and he’s grateful to be taken care of and to not have to worry about the essentials in his life anymore.”
